Crystal Zhao brings a unique mix of digital, traditional, and political media experience to the Washington Media Group. Her diverse background provides her with the ability to conceive and execute comprehensive and integrated communication plans.

Prior to joining Washington Media Group, Crystal was the Marketing Manager for the Cato Institute’s, a $2 million multimedia start-up project. At the vaunted D.C.-based think tank, she led a team of six to design and launch communication efforts for

Crystal also logged time on Capitol Hill, working as a press assistant to Rep. Bill Flores (R-TX), and in Austin, as a senior policy analyst at the Texas House of Representatives. She has also served behind the scenes for the chairman of the U.S. House Homeland Security Committee, Rep. Michael McCaul (R-TX) and for Republican Study Committee Chairman, Rep. Steve Scalise (R-LA).

Crystal is a graduate of the University of Texas at Austin, with a B.A. in Government and a B.S. in Communication Studies, with a minor in Rhetoric and Writing.
